Imagine.
Decided to take a break from putting the finishing touches on my son's Rubik's Cube costume. My eyes were beginning to cross as my patience waned. Who knew I had a latent perfectionist spirit, waiting for an opportunity to pounce. Measuring and remeasuring the zillion squares to make them even. Maddening. So not me. My son pops out of his room and says, "Cool!". "The squares are off!" I said. He says simply, "So what?" "It doesn't matter." He's right. It doesn't. Which brings me to my first cup of coffee this morning, and you. Halloween is about imagination. Not perfection. It will be just as fun, perfect squares or not. Now, if someone says, "Cool, costume. You know the squares are off?" I will have to harm them. Just kidding. Maybe...
So in the spirit of the imagination, I noticed these charming fairy doors on Apartment Therapy's Ohdeedoh. These tiny doors are magical. Reminds me of being a little girl, and stories of gnomes living, unnoticed, under our noses. Sweet. Now back to the cube. Maybe I could imagine these squares are even. Sigh...

First Harvest.
Today was a practice harvest at the farm. I was lucky enough to carry home a sack full of kale, radishes, salad greens and fresh cut oregano.

Beautiful...
I always give props to people who live life to it's fullest. To take what you already have and make use of it. I once read that a least once a day, everyone is given opportunity to change life dramatically. An open door, every day. Most of us overlook that flicker. Yet, when I see something like this, it seems as if these people caught their glimpse of perfection for the day...
yummy...
I started an internship at a organic farm last week. So far it's been very interesting. The farm has a gorgeous carambola tree.

After a afternoon of weeding the herb garden, Francis, the farm hand asks if I'd like to take a snack break. We harvested fruit from the tree, and washed them.

Dried the fruit on drying racks in the sun...
They were delicious of course. I was encourage to take a backpack full home. I think I'm going to like it here...

One word at a time...
I admit it. I've been procrastinating about starting this blog. Trying to think of interesting, and witty things to say. I've decided to just say, "Hello." It's a start right? So here goes. Hello..
