Imagine.
Decided to take a break from putting the finishing touches on my son's Rubik's Cube costume. My eyes were beginning to cross as my patience waned. Who knew I had a latent perfectionist spirit, waiting for an opportunity to pounce. Measuring and remeasuring the zillion squares to make them even. Maddening. So not me. My son pops out of his room and says, "Cool!". "The squares are off!" I said. He says simply, "So what?" "It doesn't matter." He's right. It doesn't. Which brings me to my first cup of coffee this morning, and you. Halloween is about imagination. Not perfection. It will be just as fun, perfect squares or not. Now, if someone says, "Cool, costume. You know the squares are off?" I will have to harm them. Just kidding. Maybe...
So in the spirit of the imagination, I noticed these charming fairy doors on Apartment Therapy's Ohdeedoh. These tiny doors are magical. Reminds me of being a little girl, and stories of gnomes living, unnoticed, under our noses. Sweet. Now back to the cube. Maybe I could imagine these squares are even. Sigh...
